There's some very interesting ideas underpinning it all, and use of a genuine Soweto shanty town as the main set doesn't hurt in terms of grit and realism but I thought the good start was over taken by the digital gaming elements. At least the ending was ambiguous, and even sets ups up for District 9 II.

This movie provided the final wrap-up of the original "Stargate:SG-1" TV series. It was very good. A lot better than the other movie based on the show, "Stargate: Ark of Truth". I'm not a huge anime fan. I stay the heck away from most of it. But I love Miyazaki, and Satoshi Kon, who made PAPRIKA.

It's a masterpiece of animation, but it's also one hell of an SF picture. In fact, during the last year, I've watched it at least a half-dozen times, and it just gets better and better. I see details of plot, character and nuance that I didn't see before.
