Damn, I am seriously being blown away by how good the stories in Eclipse Two really are. I've so far loved every

Given how many of our regulars on the Science Fiction Message Board are not exactly closeted about our love of Space Opera, I'm certain that
the new anthology The New Space Opera 2 is one that several of us will likely pursue. With an author list
that includes board favorites such as John Scalzi, Bruce Sterling, Elizabeth Moon, and Cory Doctorow, it seems inevitable!

I've just re-read Sherlock Holmes in Orbit, an anthology edited by Mike Resnick and Martin Greenberg. It was both better and worse than I remembered it,
and many of the stories were poorly written, repetitive and didn't seem to meet the brief as set out in the intro. Interestingly, Mike Resnick's
contribution was one of the better efforts even if trite. The anthology is surviving the current book cull though, as while I was reading it, a card from the
person who gave it to me fell out - and reminded me that it was a present from a much loved friend who died some years ago.
