Each day of the month of August we feature a different author nominated by the very people who frequent here (plus a few brave and entirely welcomed newbies as well!) and we each do what we can to post something about the writer who we are celebrating that day. It may be an anecdote about reading a favorite work or meeting the author in question, it may be a googled link investigating the author for the first time. Even if the writer(s) are new to us, we find something to share about them, and help make this board a fountain of SF literary resources (while having a smashing good time of course!)
In the 2nd and 3rd Author August celebrations we limited nominations only to the authors who hadn't been featured in previous years. However, with a new board location here at Yuku, and with a noticeable influx of new members, we've decided to throw the gates wide open again. It was getting too hard to keep track of who had already been featured as it was. This year, you may feel free to nominate any author who writes science fiction, period. You are welcome to nominate as many authors as you like until the nominations for the month are full - we just ask that you do so one at a time, and wait for somebody else to nominate a different author before you make your next suggestion.
I'll start by choosing one of the giants of SF who we lost this year, Arthur C. Clarke. Who would you like to see featured next?
