Give Mr. Custer/Captain Future a big fat no-prize. As Texans might say, it's nice t' meet y'all. Actually, I grew up in the West (Salt Lake City) but have wandered as peripatetically as Northwest Smith, living on both coasts, down in Florida, and even spent a little over a year in Korea while in the military. Been an sf fan, collector/accumulator for, oh, 50 years or better. As I mentioned in one of the literature threads, I've lost much of that strong connection to "modern" sf, but have found a couple of youngsters who transmit sensawunda just like the Old Guard did in the past. I keep somewhat up on the state of literature through a subscription to Locus. Some of their reviewer suggestions have panned out. Looking forward to discussing the genre with you folks.

My only connection to any "Forgotten Realms" is evident only as a euphemism for my memory. While most of my sf collection is mouldering away in boxes taking up half of the garage, I do keep most of my reference books handy. Hopefully they'll mitigate any egregious mistakes I make in recalling the "good ol' days" filled with sf-inspired naivete, idealism, and wonder.
