Not sure "cool" is quite the right word, but, heck, what if the Easter Bunny were an imperial storm trooper?

With those ears, he's probably a little tall to be a storm trooper...

It just shows how much those movies have entered the general consciousness. Um, shouldn't the flickr page have the usual request for the pics to be added to the "sf unleashed" stream...?

Yes, of course, you can do that at any time with the Invite box, since you're an Admin. I just didn't think to, but I try to invite anything even vaguely SF related to the group. Hopefully we can get past our SPAM concerns, so that people from there can easily wander back in here without having to register first...
Yes, Lucas really tapped into a univesal mythology with these characters. Perhaps even more than the Lord of the Rings, which is some accomplishment. |

Well it's a bit of LotR soundtrack music on the radio at the moment... but there was some Star Wars earlier, one of the minor themes rather than Main Title.
I think the massively multiplayer online role-playing LotR game is doing okay, though unfortunately the Star Wars Galaxies one was badly-conceived and mis-managed, so is just grimly hanging on. |

Yes, the newspapers are covering the case. It's not often you see a Stormtrooper and an Imperial Fighter Pilot in a British court. It will be interesting to see what the final result is; are the creations Andrew Ainsworth's "intellectual property", or was he just a hired hand slavishly copying the design sketches?

I'm betting he loses. He already lost in the U.S. Courts, and he really can't deny he was doing work for hire, can he?

Since he isn't a multi-million dollar corporation, he very wisely didn't try to defend himself in court in the Land of the Expensive. But the whole thing shows Lucasfilm in a bad light, they really should have come to an agreement rather than sending the lawyers in.

Here's something rather unique... Steampunk Modified Star Wars Figures. Odd, but pretty cool really.

Yes, when he puts them all together for the group shot at the bottom they all work rather well, with the possible exception of Threepio, who looks a bit ugly. Give him a prettier head and the whole lot would get a thumbs-up.

Mmm, sculpting with marshmallow fondant... sounds a great way to spend an evening, especially if there's some left over!

Nice to see you both looking so well - and it's good that you could find your way here now that we've been moved to Yuku! It's interesting in
online games/communities and so on how often one comes across "Darth" as a first name now, I came across a "DarthRaven" only yesterday, and
of course "Darth Animal" has been known to frequent some neighbouring message boards around here. It still feels a little strange to casually say,
or type, "Hello Darth", though...

Well tomorrow, Sunday, is Star Wars Day, as in "May the Fourth Be With You"... no doubt there will be plenty of celebrations, but one thing I know
about is a free download of the Star Wars: Legacy of the Force novel "Betrayal", for one day only, here...
The book is in pdf format, I see, and while it opened in something not unlike a web browser, using "save as" got it safely into "My Documents"...
